I was asked to provide feedback about the Windows Feedback app. I submit a lot of content on there, however I have never received any response from Microsoft. I’m not sure if they actually see my feedback.
Make it more feature-full for browsing and finding reports, editing, updating, and removing files from reports, sharing reports with strangers who don’t have Windows Feedback installed. These need to be accessible in a web browser. Allow people to login to vote without opening Feedback app. All kinds of things. Allow users to modify which department/category their feedback is in. Include an AI-powered search that recognizes similar issues and allows users to “append” their feedback to it or associate the feedback in some way, like in JIRA. And most of all, you need to have an Elo rating for user feedback, since some people are just stupid and report problems that aren’t Windows’s fault. Also include an AI-conversation bot that allows users to contextualize their feedback for the developers and allow developers to navigate feedback based on vector-similarity of the feedbacks. Alot of users report similar things that are all resolved by the same underlying issue. Use an AI to help your devs respond to feedback that is related but that they are unaware of. Have the AI send a proposed solution or report similar features implemented to each user, so people stay aware of fixes and feature releases. For example, I didn’t know Windows Containers is a thing, and I requested that feature. The Containers team needs to get their tech advertised properly in the Windows software ecosystem, for example, in the settings app, and VSCode, and Dev Home. Even Dev Home was totally unadvertised. It needs to be advertised. I can’t believe you guys never inform people about these tools. That’s why they die. DevHome needed advertising.
